In a world recovering from the pandemic, patient waiting times are at an all-time high, so we worked with a behavioural psychologist to create an NHS approved MVP app in record time.
Leading healthcare provider, Sciensus, previously Healthcare at Home, required a self-management app for their patients.
The first step was to create a user-centric focus by identifying the type of patient that was going to be using the app. We then created focus groups to discover exactly what they needed and why.
We worked with Sciensus’ legal and customer services teams, nurses, behavioural psychologist and patients to identify the pain points they currently endure and how the app could function to help eradicate these problems.
We then had to turn our attention to effectively applying UX and UI. So our in-house digital team got to work.
Insights from the focus group proved that many patients using the app would struggle with mobility because of conditions such as arthritis, therefore we designed it so that all interactions were in the lower third of the design. It was little touches like this that would make a huge difference to the end user.
